More sad news I am afraid. The below message was received this morning from Marlborough Town Council. Another bell is silenced. Andrew Fox, our Almoner, is in touch with Marlborough Town Council who are contacting Mike’s daughters. We understand that Mike’s family would appreciate a Town Crier presence at his funeral. As soon as we have any further information, we will update you.
It was with much sadness that I must tell you that the Town Crier of Marlborough, Mike Tupman, passed away on Saturday morning. Mike had been ill for some months but always had a positive outlook on life. He thoroughly enjoyed his time as Town Crier, taking part in competitions and relishing his part in community events in Marlborough, such as the Remembrance Sunday and the Coronation High Street party. He will be much missed by us all and our thoughts are with his family.
